Istrvmenti orgin.li della Ven: Chiesa ed ospedale di S. Gio:a Mare dell'Ordine Gerosolimitano [Naples?]; [between 1522-1622]. Woodstock Theological Library, Special Collections CR4715 .W35 1522 [volume 2] and [volume 3].

Two bound volumes of manuscript deeds, rents sales, leases, and other documents concerning the administration of the Hospitaller church of S. Giovanni a Mare, Naples, Italy were conserved and digitized in 2015. The original bindings allowed the documents to be stored together, but the parchment bindings had deteriorated and were in poor condition. Also, the large volumes consisted of documents (oversized parchment leaves) folded unevenly along their bottom edges. The bindings were restored and the parchment leave “text blocks” were consolidated and resewn. Humidifying the leaves to flatten them was problematic, due to the potential for text loss. Digitizing the volumes under gentle pressure allowed for good image capture and has opened up the volumes to easier researcher access and use.
