Document Delivery & Interlibrary Loans

GU-Q students, faculty and staff have access to the extensive range of print and electronic resources available through the Main Campus Library in Washington DC. The library catalog can be used to request books not held at GU-Q but available from the main campus. Please indicate “Qatar Library” as the pickup point when requesting books for dispatch to Doha.

Journals and Articles

Journal Finder is used to identify specific journal available to the Georgetown University community. It provides full-text access to individual articles, if available, and details of Georgetown University Library print holdings of older publications.

Journal articles and conference papers not accessible in full-text through Journal Finder can be searched for and requested using the ArticleReach Direct service. Available articles are then delivered in digital format directly to the email accounts of GU-Q students, faculty and staff. Georgetown University Library is a key partner in ArticleReach Direct, an initiative of a consortium of academic libraries in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia.

Still can’t find it?

If you cannot locate the item you are looking for on the library catalog, Journal Finder or by using the ArticleReach Direct service contact us directly and we will continue to search for the item on your behalf through other interlibrary loan networks, including other Education City Libraries. If you already know a possible source institution let us know and we may be able to negotiate a direct loan.

Whole issues of individual journals, primary resources and other rare materials can be very difficult to obtain through interlibrary loan and access may only be possible through a personal visit to the owning institution.
