Public Patrons

New Policy for Public Patron Membership - Effective September 4th, 2011

Members of the general public may apply for borrowing privileges from the GU-Qatar Library. The Library grants public patrons check-out privileges for all non-reference library books.

Membership Options

As of September 4th, 2011 Public patrons are invited to become a new member or renew their current membership with the GU-Qatar Library under one of the following membership options.

1. 2 Book Borrower Membership
   • This membership allows the patron to borrow up to two books at one time, renewable three times either through the website, via email, in person, or over the phone.
   • A one-time refundable deposit of 200QR is required for this membership.
2. 6 Book Borrower Membership
   • This membership allows the patron to borrow up to six books at one time, renewable three times either through the website, via email, in person, or over the phone.
   • A one-time refundable deposit of 600QR is required for this membership.

Current and prospective members can download the public patron application form and fill it in prior to your next visit to the library. Please bring your Qatar ID with you when you register or renew your membership.

Public Patrons are not eligible to check out periodicals, video media or Course Reserve materials. Interlibrary loan service from Georgetown Main Campus is not available to Public Patrons.

To renew library books, you can either login to your account online, send an email to the library, or call the library at 4457-8280.
