Borrowing Materials from CIRLA Libraries

The Georgetown University Main Campus Libraries have a direct reciprocal borrowing agreement in place with Chesapeake Information and Research Library Alliance (CIRLA) libraries throughout the area. These agreements allow Georgetown graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and visiting researchers to go in person to a CIRLA library and borrow materials.

Important: Patrons must obtain an authorization form from the Access Services Department, Third floor, Lauinger Library before visiting a CIRLA library and establishing borrowing privileges. CIRLA libraries are listed below:

George Washington University (also under WRLC borrowing)
Howard University
Johns Hopkins University, Eisenhower Library
Library of Congress
National Agricultural Library
Smithsonian Institution Libraries
University of Delaware
University of Maryland, College Park

Important: Some institutions offer specific libraries for reciprocal borrowing. Please note it is your responsibility to adhere to the policies of each institution in order to maintain the ability to borrow materials.
