Professors may place library books,
personal books, photocopies
of articles, and media
that will be in high demand
on reserve. Professors
may choose to place
these items on reserve
for two hour, four hour,
24 hour, or three day
loan. Please choose
only one loan period
for each class. Students
may borrow up to three
reserve items at one time. Reserve statistics
for each class are available at the end of
each semester by request. To ask questions
about reserves, contact
accessservices@georgetown.edu.

Photocopied reserves
may be scanned and made
available on the Web.
E-reserves have the
following advantages:
Only one copy of an article is needed; you
no longer need to provide multiple copies
of the same article
Once scanned onto the
web the reserve reading cannot be lost or
lose pages; you no longer will need to provide
replacement copies in the middle of the semester
A
completed reserve form
must be turned in with
all book chapter and
article reserve readings.
You can download
reserve forms here .
All copyright
releases MUST be signed
for us to process
the material. Please
type or print on the
reserve form. Please
be accurate and thorough
in the bibliographic
citation. All reserve
material must be brought
to the circulation
desk. Faculty members
do not need to turn
in material personally.
Library books requested for reserves can
be brought from the stacks by the faculty
member or his/her research assistant, or
the reserve staff can get the books from
the stacks. Library books brought in by the
professor will be processed faster. Library
books needed for reserve but currently checked
out will be recalled and placed on reserve.
Personal copies of books
may be placed on reserve. Please be sure
to write your name in the books.
Photocopies of articles may be placed on
reserve. Please refer to the Main
Campus Libraries Course Reserve Copyright
Policies,
for details on what may or may not be placed
on reserve. You may bring in all copies you
need, bring in one copy of articles and ask
Access Services to make additional copies,
or request that Access Services find and
copy the articles.
If you are experiencing any problems with course reserves,

Georgetown email cannot
handle large numbers
