Finding Media at WRLC Schools
Contacting Libraries of the WRLC
1.Before submitting a consortium request, verify in GEORGE
that the book or journal
is NOT available in the Georgetown Main Campus libraries (Lauinger
or
Blommer). The item must either not be found in GEORGE, or the
item status must
be Due, Missing, Missing SENSA, or Searching before initiating
a CLS request.
2.Search for the same title in the
WRLC catalog.
3.Check the WRLC catalog record to verify the following information
before you
submit your request:
- The book's status in the record of the lending library says
Available.
NOTE: Materials
located at George Mason University do not have a status
in the WRLC catalog. Click on the title of the item, then the
"George Mason
holdings" url listed in the item record. The George Mason
catalog will appear
with the item record (status will be "not charged"
if it is available). Use the
"Back" button of your web browser to return to the
WRLC catalog and
request the material if it is not charged.
The item circulates (this does not apply to journal article requests).
The
following items do not circulate:
- Media Collections: videos, tapes, CDs (see Finding
Media for more details)
- Law Library Collections
- Special Collections Materials
- Reserve Materials
- Articles of 50+ pages
- Reference Materials
- Gallaudet University Model School and Leisure Collections
4.Choose the item you wish to request and click on the Request
button from the
menu bar at the top of the screen.
5.From the pull down menu, choose Institution ID. Enter your
9 digit University ID
number (begins with an 8), found on the front of your GOCard.
6.Click on OK for Georgetown Consortium Loan Request.
7.You should now see the Consortium Loan Request
form on your screen with the
title of the book or journal you're requesting at the top of the
form.
8.Complete the following sections of the form:
Library for Pickup
Specify which library you would like to have the item shipped
to by using the
2 letter institution code or name of University
GT
or Georgetown
Use one of the following codes to have the item
shipped to another WRLC library:
AU
or American University
CU
or Catholic University
DC
or University of the District of Columbia
GA
or Gallaudet University
GW
or George Washington University
GM
or George Mason University
MU
or Marymount University
TR
or Trinity College
NOTE: if requesting
the item to be delivered to a library other than
GT, in
addition to selecting the school in the "Library
for pick up," you must place a
note in the "comment" field that you
will pick the item up at the library listed.
If
this is not done, the book will be delivered to
GT.
Not needed after
Enter the date after which you
no longer need the material requested.
Vol/Issue/Date
If requesting a journal article,
please enter the volume number, issue number
(if available), and publication
date.
Article Title/Author
If requesting a journal article,
please enter the full title of the article and the
author's name (first author only
if co-authors).
Article Pages
If requesting a journal article,
enter the first and last page numbers.
Enter Your Barcode
Enter the 9 digit number on the
front of your Georgetown ID card (begins with
an "8").
Additional Brief Comments
Add any information necessary,
such as a specific email address to send
notification to, etc. 
1.Consortium loan requests are generally available for pickup
in 2 to 3 business
days, although in rare cases it may take up to 3 weeks.
2.You will be notified by e-mail when items are available for
pickup.
3.Items will be held at the Lauinger Library Circulation Desk
(3rd floor) for 10 days.
1.General borrowing policies can be found by clicking
here, but all loan periods,
renewal limits, recall policies, and fines are determined by the
lending library.
2.Borrowed materials may be returned to Lauinger or Blommer
libraries or any other
WRLC
library.
3.Borrowed materials may be renewed at Lauinger or Blommer libraries,
any other
WRLC library, or online through your myALADIN
account, on or before the due
date.
4.Overdue materials must be renewed at the original lending
library, in person or by
phone (listed at the bottom of this page).
You may choose to have journal articles from other WRLC libraries
delivered via the
web through myALADIN.
To use this document delivery option, you first must register
your e-mail account on myALADIN, before making your request.
NOTE: If your e-mail address
is already registered in myALADIN, you will
automatically receive journal articles electronically, unless
you disable this
function on the summary page of your patron record. To disable
electronic
delivery of journal articles, click on the check box located
to the right of the
your e-mail address.
You should allow 1 to 3 working days for delivery and will be
notified by email when your
article is available. Articles will be accessible for a period
of 2 weeks before they are
automatically deleted from your myALADIN account.
All documents will be posted in .pdf format and require Adobe
Acrobat version 4.0 or
higher in order to view.

1. If the Georgetown
library does not own the media you are
looking for, check the WRLC
Catalog.
2. If the item is found in the WRLC catalog, you are welcome
to listen to or view the material at the WRLC library that owns
the
media. Please note: media owned by WRLC libraries
cannot be checked out.
FACULTY ONLY: Faculty members of Georgetown
University may arrange to borrow media owned by WRLC libraries
through the WRLC Media Share program. Loans must be arranged
at least one week in advance and are only coordinated through
the
media
center
representatives of the Gelardin New Media Center (GNMC). Please
