The Georgetown University Libraries have
joined the Washington
Research Library Consortium (WRLC), a resource-sharing
organization formed
by seven other universities
in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area
to expand the information
resources available
to their students and faculty.
Benefits for Georgetown
The most immediate benefit
to Georgetown University
Main Campus students,
faculty, and staff
is the ability to
borrow books from
any WRLC library.
Using your GOCard,
you may borrow books in person from the
WRLC libraries, including
The American University,
The Catholic University
of America, Gallaudet
University, George
Mason University,
The George Washington
University, Marymount
University, The University
of the District of
Columbia, and Trinity
College. In addition,
Georgetown faculty,
students, and staff
may request that materials
owned by any WRLC
Library
be delivered for pick-up
at the Lauinger Library
Circulation Desk,
including books and
copies of journal
articles.
For details on borrowing
privileges, go to http://www.wrlc.org/guidetolibs03/guideborrowing.html.
Use Aladin http://catalog.wrlc.org/,
the WRLC's shared
union catalog, to
see the consortium's
holdings and to request
delivery of materials.
Links for these services
have been added
to our Library's
website and to GEORGE,
the library catalog.
Records for items held
in the Georgetown University
Libraries are
available through Aladin.
Georgetown has the opportunity
to use other
aspects of WRLC
programs and services,
including cooperative
collection development
and their new Digital
Collections Production
Center. Georgetown will
continue to use
the WRLC
Offsite Storage Facility,
as it has for the past
three years.
