Transparent Functionality: The Glass Exhibition
For my project, I chose to create an exhibition highlighting the aesthetic, yet functional features of glass. The exhibit itself features an all glass display that also holds the individual glass objects. The main premise behind this design cultivates an experience for the viewer that causes an internal questioning of which glass is on display and which acts as merely functional elements of design. By the end, the viewer should have a changed conception of the substance of glass, seeing the beauty in even its most mundane forms. My video representation utilizes an array of powerful images to symbolize the objects within. The pictures furthermore correspond perfectly with the voiceover, which consists of an adaptation to a curator’s statement.
