NOTICE: The Library is continuing to work on the transition to a new and improved library management system. As the transition continues some functions and services will continue to operate at a limited capacity. Users can still check out and return items and search the catalog. Users will not be able to log in to their library accounts, request items online, or use self check-out machines. If you have questions please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call (202) 687-7607. Thank you for your continued patience during this transition.
GIS allows us to create interactive maps that help to visualize data in many ways that reveal relationships, patterns, and trends in the form of maps, globes, reports, and charts. A geographic information system (GIS) integrates hardware, software, and data for capturing, managing, analyzing, and displaying all forms of geographically referenced information. ArcGIS Desktop 10.2.2 mapping software is loaded on all Windows computers throughout Lauinger Library and Blommer Science Library. For use on Personal computers, a downloadable version of ArcGIS is available for use by Georgetown students, faculty and staff. Windows only. Please see Lauinger Access Services at the third floor circulation desk for more information.
Access Services also circulates the GeoLytics software that contains U.S. Census data from 1970-2000. With this product, custom spreadsheets or map layers may be created.
