Breier-Scheetz Manuscript Endowment Fund

Nicholas B. ScheetzFrederick B. Scheetz

The Breier-Scheetz Manuscript Endowment Fund was established by Nicholas B. and Frederick B. Scheetz in January 1990.

The fund is used to purchase manuscript materials related to 19th and 20th century British and American Catholic literary figures. Among these acquisitions were a portion of the papers of Michael Richey, an English sailor and navigator who at age 79 raced his engineless sailboat from Plymouth, England, to Newport, Rhode Island, a journey that took 56 days.
