Miles P. DuVal, Jr. Endowed Collection on Inter-Oceanic Canal and Naval History

This fund was established in 1973 by Captain Miles P. DuVal, Jr., USN (Ret.). Miles graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1918. He received a Masters in Foreign Service from Georgetown University in 1937. The fund's original purpose was to purchase materials on the Panama Canal or on naval history; before his death in 1989, the Captain broadened the focus of the endowment to include American History. The Library's Booth Family Center for Special Collections also contains his papers.
