These funds were established by the Board of Trustees of the Library Associates in the 1970s to build endowments and expand collections in the named areas of study.

The Irish Literature Book Endowment Fund is also known as the Rose Maguire Saul Zalles Irish Cultural Program Fund, named for her generous contributions to expand Library collections around Irish and Celtic studies.
