Access Services provides Course Reserves to meet your class' needs. Books can be placed on two, four, twenty-four hour or three-day short-term loan. Students can check out print reserves at the Circulation Desk. Book chapters and articles can be scanned into PDFs and provided to your students electronically for online access at any time. Feature films, documentaries, and other media can be streamed and delivered via Canvas and/or Blackboard for student viewing. Access Services can order material for Book, Electronic, and Media Reserves the Library does not own. For any Course Reserve request, please contact the Circulation/Reserves Supervisor at firstname.lastname@example.org. School of Continuing Studies faculty should contact email@example.com for assistance with Course Reserves. Also, we have faculty carrels available for you to conduct your research. Should you need a carrel, please contact the Weekend Supervisor and Access Specialist at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Stacks Services Unit maintains the print and media collections in Lauinger, Blommer Science Library, and at the off-campus storage facility in Upper Marlboro, MD. We ensure that materials are findable and accessible in the stacks, and will retrieve materials for you when you request them through HoyaSearch (all off-campus storage materials must be requested online—this facility is closed to the public). If your office is on the Hilltop, we offer a delivery service and can bring Georgetown, Consortium, and Interlibrary Loan materials to your office or your department. Feel free to contact Anna Striker, Stacks Services Supervisor at email@example.com.
The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Unit works to obtain materials for your research that are not owned by the Library or are unavailable at your time of need. Most article requests are delivered within 2 days. Books and media delivered from partners in our local consortium take approximately 2-3 days to arrive. If a requested item is not available from our local consortium, we try to obtain a loan from another domestic or international library. Feel free to contact the ILL Supervisor at firstname.lastname@example.org.
