CANCELED: Hear Expert Search Tips from Google Scientist Daniel Russell

Russell speaking

Library events have been canceled through May 15, 2020. Please check with us in the Fall about upcoming events.

Daniel Russell, Google’s Senior Research Scientist for Search Quality and User Happiness, will speak at Lauinger Library on Wednesday, March 25 at 5pm about how to be a more effective online researcher. Come to the Murray Room on the fifth floor to learn more about common online research habits and tips for finding information through Google and other online search tools. Russell will draw on his years of experience teaching different audiences the best ways to search, which he has done via in-person talks, instructional YouTube videos, and his MOOC (PowerSearchingWithGoogle.com). He will also discuss his motivations for writing The Joy of Search, a guide to framing search queries that will help searchers yield specific, relevant information.
