Getting the Most Out of HathiTrust

Hathi Trust logo

Georgetown is a member of HathiTrust, a partnership of major academic and research libraries collaborating in an extraordinary digital library initiative to preserve and provide access to the published record in digital form. This membership comes with major benefits for Georgetown users! Are you taking full advantage?

In the HathiTrust Digital Library, all Georgetown users have advanced options when accessing the more than 4.5 million publicly-available volumes. Users can create reading lists, save items and download full-text pdfs.

All Georgetown community members also have access to another tremendous resource: the HathiTrust Research Center (HTRC). The mission of the HTRC is to help meet the technical challenges of dealing with massive amounts of digital text by developing cutting-edge software tools and cyber infrastructure to enable advanced computational access to the growing digital record of human knowledge. The HTRC provides a secure computational and data environment for scholars to perform research using the HathiTrust Digital Library. In addition, the HTRC frequently sends out updates and calls for proposals over their listservs, which you can sign up for here

If you’re interested in learning more about how you can leverage HathiTrust resources for your research and teaching, reach out to us at digitalscholarship@georgetown.edu to schedule a consultation!
