Improved Interlibrary Loan Process

A row of Georgetown University Library Books

Have you ever had a Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC) request that wasn't able to be fulfilled? This can happen for many reasons, the item may be on reserve, all copies are checked out, or Georgetown’s WRLC partners don’t own the particular item you are seeking. In the past, once you received a notice that the request was unable to be fulfilled you would need to log back into your account to place a follow-up Interlibrary Loan (ILL) request in ILLiad.

The Library is pleased to announce a new, more streamlined process for requesting materials not held at Georgetown. In HoyaSearch, unfilled Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC) requests will now automatically become Interlibrary Loan (ILL) requests! Now, if you get an email cancellation notice that your Consortium requests were not filled, you can simply check your Interlibrary Loan account to see the continued progress of your request.

If you have questions about this new process contact the Access Services Department.
