Library Joins arXiv

The Library recently became a member institution providing financial support to arXiv, an open access digital repository of scientific papers in the fields of mathematics, physics, astronomy, computer science, quantitative biology, statistics and quantitative finance.  Pronounced “archive,” this collection of over 900,000 e-prints began in 1991 at Los Alamos National Library as the brainchild of physicist Paul Ginsparg.  Cornell University Library now hosts and operates the site with funding from the Simons Foundation and voluntary contributions from some 175 institutions, now including the Georgetown University Library.  You may find and download articles as well as read more about arXiv at arxiv.org.
