Maker Hub Innovators and Creators

Marc Connell, Georgetown College, Class of 2017

Last year, Georgetown student Marc Connell (C’17) discovered the Library's newly-opened Maker Hub and became inspired to begin developing an idea he had for a new medical device. He calls his device the BioMap Explorer I, and he was able to bring this idea to reality using 3d printers, electronics, and soldering equipment at the Maker Hub. In the process, he pitched his idea at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Lab to Launch competition and won! View his full story:

Marc isn't the only one to take advantage of the resources in the Maker Hub - view all of our highlighted Maker Hub projects to see more creations made by the Georgetown community from laser-cut images to journals to 3d-printed skulls

Even better, come dream up your own project! Visit the Maker Hub on the 1st floor of Lauinger Library on Monday, Friday, and Saturday from 12:00pm-5:00pm and from Tuesday-Thursday from 5:00-8:00pm.
