All Main Campus Library facilities are open and operating at full capacity to Georgetown faculty, students, and staff. The Library will be closed to external community members and guests through December 2021, with limited exceptions. Find the most current information available on the Library's COVID-19 FAQ.
The Library will be launching its redesigned website during the winter intersession period, but we have a sneak preview of the design now.
Highlights of the new design include:
A cleaner, more streamlined look.
Searching our catalog, databases, and journals will remain front and center at the top of the page. You’ll also continue to be able to log in to your account at the top right of the page.
Library hours will be easy to find in a prominent position.
The Library’s workshops and speakers will be now featured on the front page, as well as current exhibitions and notable collections.
A redesigned mobile version, with larger buttons and menus to make browsing easier on smaller screens.
Redesigned interior pages, with improved information for specific user groups and refreshed home pages for areas within the Libraries like the Booth Family Center for Special Collections or the School of Continuing Studies Library.
Note that this design is preliminary and elements may change slightly as we continue our work, complete University review, and code the site. If you'd like to give feedback about our new designs, or have specific suggestions for how the current site could be improved, email firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a 30 minute meeting to talk to the Library's Website Committee, or learn about other surveys and exercises you can complete on your own time.
