November DVD Spotlight: Social Justice & Activism

Collage of Social Activism DVD Spotlight DVDs

Social activism has taken many shapes over the years. From the Greensboro sit-in from February 1960 to the online organizing done through social media today, people have taken the time to bring support and awareness to those causes they feel passionate about.

This month, the library is spotlighting documentaries that delve into many aspects of social activism. Learn about the “Pink Gang” and their revolt against society in Pink Saris, see how sports have both helped to stabilize and disrupt the political status quo throughout history in Not Just a Game, or gain knowledge about how media represents women in Miss Representation. All of these titles and more can be found on the spotlight shelf on Lau 2.
