Latinx Heritage Month (September 15–October 15) is a time to recognize and honor the histories and cultures of Latinx people in the United States. Here at the Library, we are actively acquiring resources that feature Latinx and Latin American voices.
Visit our online exhibit, Latinx Voices, to engage with e-books, streaming films, TED Talks, journals, GU student groups and professional associations that center around Latinx identity, literature and culture. Here’s a snapshot of some of the resources you will find:
- "My Identity is a Superpower—Not an Obstacle", a TED Talk by America Ferrera
- Latin America in Video from Alexander Street Press
- Latin American & Latinx Visual Culture, an open access journal published by University of California Press
- Latinx Literature Now: Between Evanescence and Event by Ricardo Ortíz
For more resources, contact Jade Madrid, Latin American studies and Iberian languages liaison and reference librarian. And join the conversation on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using the hashtag #GULatinx and #GULatinxVoices.
