Research Services Introduction for New Faculty

Research Consultation

Every department on the Main Campus has an assigned liaison librarian. These subject specialists provide services to the faculty and students as well as connections to other library services. Your subject librarian will curate the Library’s collection for your discipline. Librarians also create Research and Course Guides which highlight discipline-specific resources for your students. Please let us know your purchase requests to help us build collections for your teaching and research.

In addition to managing the collection for your teaching and research, your librarian is also available to partner with you to provide instruction and in-person assistance for both you and your students. Your subject librarian can instruct on research skills, how to use the library, and its specific resources through classroom sessions. They can also provide personalized, one-on-one assistance for both students and faculty through Research Consultations. Many of the subject librarians also maintain office hours in various departments across the campus, and research assistance is available at the point of need via chat and email from Ask Us.

Our librarians are ready to support your teaching, research, and service life at Georgetown. Reach out to your subject librarian today to begin your partnership!
