Welcome from the Dean

Harriette Hemmasi

Dear New Faculty,

Welcome to Georgetown from the University Library! I am delighted that you have chosen Georgetown, and I look forward to working with you in the future. Even though the building is currently closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our staff are working to support you and your students as you create new knowledge through research, intellectual exploration, and creative thought. This orientation site will provide you with an overview of the resources that are available to you through the Georgetown University Library.

The best way to learn about all the Library has to offer is to talk to your research librarian. Our subject specialists provide you with guidance on resources and services, teach students about our collections and effective research strategies, and connect you with staff in other Library departments.

In addition to meeting your research librarian, you may wish to explore our other collections and services, including the Booth Family Center for Special Collections, Digital Scholarship and DigitalGeorgetown, Gelardin New Media Center, Maker Hub, and Woodstock Theological Library. You can also visit our faculty page for complete information on of the full range of Library services we offer.

Please contact us with any questions you may have. We look forward to working with you to enhance your research, teaching, and scholarship!

Sincerely,
Harriette Hemmasi
Dean of the Library
