As decisions about the start of the fall semester continue to unfold, the Library’s overarching goals remain unchanged: to provide the most essential services and content possible in support of Georgetown's teaching, learning, and research agenda. We are committed to designing and delivering high quality services and resources in a manner that remains aligned with the evolving health and safety regulations and guidelines established by the government and the University.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we deal with the challenges and opportunities of these unprecedented times. The Library is here to support you and the needs of Georgetown's academic community throughout this crisis and beyond.
Borrowing by proxy provides borrowing privileges in the Georgetown University Library to individuals working for or with a Georgetown faculty member. The faculty member may designate, via the proxy request form, a person who is authorized to borrow materials in his/her name. Proxies do not need have official affiliation with Georgetown.
Please fill out the proxy form and submit. We will email a confirmation of receipt and processing.
To borrow onto a faculty account, the proxy must present a Georgetown GoCard or, if not affiliated with Georgetown, a driver's license or passport, and tell the attendant at Circ Desk s/he is borrowing for a faculty member. Books will be charged to the faculty member's account.
The sponsoring faculty member is responsible for all materials borrowed and fines accrued by the proxy. Proxy privileges are issued for no more than one academic year. To name a proxy, a faculty member must already be a registered borrower in the Georgetown University Library. Proxy privileges do not extend to the Interlibrary Loan service.
