Scholarly Communication Services and Partners

There are many people and departments who contribute to scholarly communication at Georgetown, including:

  1. The Scholarly Communication Committee hosts a Scholarly Communication Symposium series. Recent programs have focused on authors' rights and the future of first books. Committee members represent the Georgetown University Libraries, Georgetown University Press, the Office of Scholarly Publications, and CNDLS.

  2. Carole Sargent, Director of the Office of Scholarly Publications guides tenure-line faculty of Georgetown's main campus to scholarly book and article publication at first-tier university presses and major academic journals.

  3. Georgetown University Press supports the academic mission of Georgetown University by publishing scholarly books and journals for a diverse, worldwide readership. These publications, written by an international group of authors representing a broad range of intellectual perspectives, reflect the academic and institutional strengths of the university.

  4. The Georgetown University in Qatar Library scholarly communication services are in partnership with the Georgetown University Qatar Office of Research to assist researchers with the process of disseminating their scholarly writing in traditional peer-reviewed publications and to encourage the use of new and emerging methods of publishing.

  5. CNDLS, Georgetown's Center for New Designs in Learning & Scholarship, is the home to the scholarship of teaching and learning at Georgetown University. CNDLS staff, in addition to faculty and graduate affiliates, are engaged in advanced research on teaching practices, assessment techniques, instructional design, student learning, and technologies to enhance the latest educational environments.

  6. DigitalGeorgetown, Georgetown University’s institutional repository, provides online access to our community's academic scholarship.

  7. The Library's experienced and knowledgeable Subject Specialists, are available for research consultations to explore resources in-depth. Members of the Georgetown community also have expert research assistance available from subject specialists at the Law Library, Medical Library, Bioethics Research Library, and SFS-Qatar Library.
