Last April, Harvey Fitz, 30, began hosting Poetic Vibes, a monthly open mic in Anacostia. It’s the only open mic in the region east of the Anacostia River. In presenting a poetry/spoken word showcase, Harvey is pursuing a three-year dream to provide a creative safe space for burgeoning Anacostia talent.
