RefugEat

This podcast series explores the powerful link between food and identity (set out in episode 1), and reveals the ways food can help us to support refugees and migrants in DC - from learning about and cooking international recipes (the subject of episode 2), to swapping Uber Eats for one of the many businesses in DC that offer delicious food cooked by immigrant or refugee chefs (episode 3). While Georgetown students are already familiar with businesses like Falafel Inc, other organizations like Foodhini, Kama DC, and Beiyti are doing equally great work that many are unaware of. Through voiceovers and interviews with social enterprise owners, chefs, and fellow Georgetown students, the podcast hopes to show DC residents how much diversity surrounds them, and convince them that engaging with and supporting refugee and immigrant communities on their doorstep is easy, valuable,... and potentially delicious!
