Graduate Student Short-Term Study Rooms

These study rooms are designed to facilitate day-long research and provide a quiet, closed-door atmosphere for study. A limited number of individual study rooms in Lauinger Library are available for graduate students to reserve for short-term use.

Use This Service: 

Main campus graduate students may reserve short-term study rooms here. Unoccupied and unreserved rooms are available on the same day on a first-come, first-served basis.

Location: 

Study carrels are found on the second and fourth floors of Lauinger Library.

Policy: 

Main Campus Georgetown Graduate students may reserve a room for up to six hours per day.

Reservations must be made at least twelve hours in advance.

Reservations can be made for up to a week in advance.

Reservations are mediated by Access Services staff to verify Main Campus graduate status. You will receive an email asking you to verify your request and then a second email confirming the request.

Reservations placed when the Access Services Department is closed will be mediated within an hour of the Access Services Department reopening.

Unoccupied and unreserved rooms are first-come first-serve to any library patron.

These rooms doors do not lock. Do not leave laptops, wallets, GoCards, cell phones, or any valuables in the room for even a minute. The Library is not responsible for items taken from the room.
