Join us for the annual Ellen Catherine Gstalder (C'98) Memorial Lecture with Dr. Susan F. Martin, Herzberg Professor of International Migration.
Susan Martin holds the Donald G. Herzberg Chair in International Migration and serves as the Director of the Institute for the Study of International Migration in the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Previously Dr. Martin served as the Executive Director of the U.S. Commission on Immigration Reform, established by legislation to advise Congress and the President on U.S. immigration and refugee policy. Prior to joining the Commission’s staff, she was the Director of Research and Programs at the Washington-based Refugee Policy Group. She was Assistant Professor in the American Studies Department of Brandeis University and Lecturer in the History of American Civilization Department at the University of Pennsylvania. Her most recent publications include A Nation of Immigrants and Migration-Displacement Nexus: Patterns, Processes, and Policies (ed.). Dr. Martin earned her MA and Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and her BA from Douglass College, Rutgers University.
