We are currently installing new doors in the stairwell in Lauinger Library. During this time, visitors will not be able to use landings that are under construction, either to enter that floor or pass through en route to another. We encourage visitors to use the elevators, although the stairwell may still be used to access floors that are not under construction. Landings under construction should only be used in the case of an emergency.

The David R. Turner Memorial Book Endowment Fund

The David R. Turner Memorial Book Endowment Fund was established by his family in 1969. David R. Turner, F'67, worked at the library during his last year at Georgetown. He served as 2nd Lieutenant in the First Battalion Seventh Marines, Golf Batter, First Marine Division. He was killed in action on December 8, 1968 south of Danang in Vietnam.

The fund is used to purchase books relating to foreign service.
