We are currently installing new doors in the stairwell in Lauinger Library. During this time, visitors will not be able to use landings that are under construction, either to enter that floor or pass through en route to another. We encourage visitors to use the elevators, although the stairwell may still be used to access floors that are not under construction. Landings under construction should only be used in the case of an emergency.

Second Floor Lauinger Floor Map

What's on the Second Floor

On the Second Floor you can find our DVD collection, current and bound periodicals, Government Documents, the Writing Center, the Midnight Mug coffee shop and vending machines. You can also find all call number ranges for Quartos, Folios, and Flat Folios.

To make room for the Special Collections Research Center Renovation, we have temporarily moved all items within the call number range PQ8180 - PR1180 from the Fifth Floor to the Second Floor. For the duration of the construction, these items will be shelved behind the DVDs. Their location in our catalog is listed as "LAU Stacks 2nd Floor - Temporary."

4 group study rooms and 5 individual short-term graduate study rooms are available.

We are currently preparing additional study space to the right of the Midnight Mug. For questions regarding this project, please call the Circulation Desk at 202-687-7607, or email accessservices@georgetown.edu.
