Catholic Collections Added to CRRA Portal

The Library is pleased to announce that we’ve added descriptions of nearly 200 collections and items to the Catholic Research Resources Alliance’s Catholic Portal.

The Catholic Research Resources Alliance (CRRA) is a nonprofit alliance dedicated to providing global access to Catholic research resources in the Americas, particularly rare, unique and uncommon research materials. The Georgetown University Library is active partner in this mission, and the addition of these records is the latest step in these efforts.

The nearly 200 records come from the Manuscripts Collection in the Booth Family Center for Special Collections. They are all rare items, if not unique to Georgetown’s holdings. They include manuscripts collections from prominent Jesuits, Georgetown professors, theologians and others from throughout the last two centuries.

With the addition of these items to the Catholic Portal, descriptions of the collections are now fully searchable both through the CRRA and DigitalGeorgetown. It is now easy for researchers around the world to discover the contents of these priceless collections, some of which have never been studied.
