Georgetown University Library will celebrate Jesuit Heritage Week 2017 with a lecture and light luncheon with Reverend John W. O’Malley, S.J. on Monday, January 30 at 12:30pm in the Murray Room, Lauinger Library 541.
Father O’Malley, a Professor in the Theology Department will be discussing his newest title The Jesuits and the Popes: A Historical Sketch of Their Relationship. The book traces the often close but sometimes tumultuous 450 year relationship between the Jesuits and the papacy from the birth of the Jesuit order to Pope Francis, the first Jesuit pope.
