Find Product distribution channels using Data.Census.gov

The information on this page refers to an event that happened in the past, and the information may no longer be accurate. It is presented for historical purposes only.

There is a free resource for all types of products and services that is relevant for many business questions. You can also use this data to benchmark the product supply chain by its business revenue source. Even hard-to-research industries like mining, waste management, utilities, health care, tourism, finance, and consulting can be found in this resource. The North American Product Classification System (NAPCS) identifies, defines, and classifies the final outputs produced and sold or transferred by the reporting units within each industry. NAPCS applied to the Economic Census data provides useful product level data, updated every 5 years by the U.S. Economic Census. This presentation will show you how to get the product data you want using the ‘business of wine in the U.S.’ We will be exploring the most current data (2022) about wineries, wholesaling, retailing, and catering, to pouring wine in bars and restaurants. Because of the nature of the workshop, it will not be recorded, nor should AI bots be used.
