Planning for Video Production

This workshop will walk participants through the most important phase of video production, which is "pre-production" (the planning phase). Different types of shot lists, scripts, and video clips will be shown during this time to give you a feel of how planning is actually applied to a completed video project. The instructor will also demo and explain best practices for a basic video production equipment set-up.

Video Editing with Adobe Premiere

Adobe Premiere Pro is a professional video editing application that is used to combine video and audio clips, music, graphics, titles, and still images to produce finished sequences. This workshop will teach participants the basic process of creating a project, importing assets, basic edits to audio and video, and keyboard shortcuts.

Intro to InDesign (Part I)

Participants will be introduced to desktop publishing and the InDesign interface, and will learn how to import and format text, create frames, place text and images into frames, manipulate and organize objects in layers, manipulate text and images into basic layouts, and export projects as PDF files. Having completed the workshop, participants should be able to create basic documents such as brochures, pamphlets, and posters and prepare them for printing.

Participant will expand on their knowledge from the Introduction to InDesign course by learning advanced text formatting, advanced layouts including master pages, creating gradients, adding effects, advanced image placement with Photoshop, package and export projects as PDF files. Having completed the beginner and advanced workshops, participants should be able to create basic documents such as brochures, pamphlets, and posters and prepare them for printing.

Editing and Sharing Immersive 360 photos and videos


2:00pm - 3:00pm, Friday, February 14, 2020

In this workshop students will learn how to upload and share 360 Video and Photos on various social media platforms. Participants will also learn how to make basic edits to their 360 media files.

If you register for one of our workshops, make sure that you arrive at the Gelardin New Media Center a few minutes early to ensure a prompt start time. If you need to cancel your registration, please email gelardin@georgetown.edu  48 hours before the workshop so that we can contact people on the waitlist. If you prefer to cancel your registration yourself, create an account with www.eventbrite.com using the same email address that you used to register for our workshop. We charge a $20 no-show fine to your library account for each workshop that you miss.
