Due to COVID-19 we're placed in a position where we have new methods and opportunities to communicate with our students, colleagues, or staff. Many of us are utilizing Zoom, while some are using video recordings to deliver messages to our intended audience. In this workshop, ""Communicating with Asynchronous Video"", attendees will learn how to utilize webcam or mobile device footage along with basic video editing systems to piece together short, effective video messages to explain your thought, argument, or idea with an individual or group.

Planning for Video Production

Online Workshop
This workshop will walk participants through the most important phase of video production, which is "pre-production" (the planning phase). Different types of shotlists, scripts, and video clips will be shown during this time to give you a feel of how planning is actually applied to a completed video project. The instructor will also demo and explain best practices for a basic video production equipment set-up.

Learn to Edit Video with WeVideo

"If you're interested in editing and sharing short videos, this workshop is for you. During this course I will cover the basic features of the online video editor WeVideo. A limited amount of WeVideo accounts are available by request from the Gelardin New Media Center, so please send an e-mail directly to gelardin@georgetown.edu to gain access to the editor prior to attending this workshop. *For a ""hands-on"" learning experience please request a WeVideo account before 2/15/2021 *Please note, a WeVideo account is recommended though not required to attend this workshop."
